ユナイテッド航空のマイレージプラスのマイルで空港内レストランの支払が可能になりました。

マイレージプラスのマイル残高でレストランの支払いが可能に

昨年の中盤からiPadを利用したレストランの注文システムが稼働していたニューアーク/ニューヨーク国際空港のターミナルC。

先月下旬からマイレージプラスのマイルを利用したレストランの食事代の支払いに正式に対応しました。

各席にiPadが設置してあります。
どっかの回転寿司みたいです。

It’s an industry first. United MileagePlus members will be able to use award miles to purchase dining and retail amenities at Newark Liberty Terminal C restaurants using OTG's unique iPad customer experience platform. This innovative program marks the first time travelers will have the option to use mileage redemption for in-person purchases.

Customers will be able to scan their boarding pass or enter their MileagePlus number on any of the almost 6,000 iPads throughout the terminal. At check out, customers can choose to pay with their award miles, offering a seamless experience for the savvy traveler.

With an estimated 95 million United MileagePlus members, and 20 million passengers annually traveling through Newark Liberty's Terminal C, this integration is just another way United and OTG are re-imagining the airport experience through elevated dining, design and technology.

13ドルのフレンチオニオンスープが1,860マイル。

これって、かなり率的に悪いよね。
1,400円ちょっとの食事が1,860マイル。
5,000マイル使えば東京から沖縄を除きANAの特典航空券(片道)が手に入るんだから。

実際には空港内の食事はもう少し高いし、まさかスープだけっていうわけにもいかないから、実際に食事をするとなるとかなりのマイルを消費してしまうことになります。

そもそも空港内のレストランって高いよね。
しかも、そもそも高いし。

正直、あんまりおすすめはできないです。
